The work is concerned with place, memory, and the slow accumulation of unease. Landscapes are not passive settings but active presences, shaping the lives that move through them.

Much of the writing began in 2021, following the death of my mum. What began as a way of working through absence and grief became more structured, though the themes have remained consistent. The work does not attempt resolution, but returns instead to what lingers.

Influenced by the geography and atmosphere of the Scottish Highlands, the work explores isolation, recurrence, and the uneasy relationship between people and the places they inhabit.

Non-fiction work is published under the name Campbell Stewart, marking a distinct body of documentary writing.
